Very valid reasons. I missed Nvidia as a long term investment and came to peace with it as chasing stocks is a recipe for poor returns

I like to point out that tempering your individual stock picks with market weighted index funds let you capture a piece of these runaway trains. I don't own Nvidia individually. In fact, I don't own any semiconductor stocks. I don't like the cyclical feature of the businesses. However, by owning an index fund, you can partake in outsized moves of particular sectors even though you don't have individual exposure. Your downside is also somewhat protected. When the chip sector takes a rest, other sectors might pick up the slack.
